Tiny Terrapins Swim School was created out of a strong passion, a shared vision and a ceaseless commitment focus on making learning the most comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for both you in regards to safety and your little one in regards to learning! We recognise the importance of entering the world of swimming and are passionate in this journey,

Since opening, we've had the opportunity to help countless students acquire foundational skills, develop new techniques and confidently move forward in their learning journey, from ages just three months, up to six years old - our lessons of of the highest standard to help learn and improve your childs swimming journey.

Rather than a business we are more like a family and I like to keep things flexible and personable and tailored to you! Not all of our little ones will react the same being introduced to the world of swimming! And it’s very important to me we let them lead the way and feed of their actions and body language to
learn at their own pace !

Services

Teeny Terrapins
3-9 Months

Taking those first steps into the world of swimming starts here and we couldn’t be happier for you to start your journey with us.

Throughout this stage we create a solid foundation by building water confidence and creating an enjoyable atmosphere so that your little one is willing to engage and learn, and build on different skills throughout the course.

Tiny Terrapins
9-15 Months

So we have introduced you to the world of Swimming, you are now welcomed into our community of Tiny Terrapin swimmers, and you have now developed a love for the water! ( Which was our main goal of our Teeny Terrapin classes) We now have an understanding of different ques, are reaching out and holding on, and really start to enjoy our different themed lessons!. Throughout our Tiny terrapin classes we start to develop our skills we learnt in Teeny Terrapins, and build on our strength before entering our Toddler Terrapin classes!

Terrapin Tots
15 Months - Two Years

Once we have reached that milestone it’s time to create a little more interaction, and build and develop on the skills we have achieved within the first year of our swimming journey.

Throughout this stage we will be encouraging a little more independence within the water and introduce how to safely climb out of the pool and travel along the side of the pool.

Toddler Terrapins
2-3 Years

We have now reached the stage where we have made significant progress and should be able to travel a few metres with little adult support / floatation aids, or nothing at all (for those of you who are really showing off!)

Our journey of blowing bubbles continues but a little more rhythmically as we work on our aquatic breathing skills along with more challenging techniques and body positions, and the introduction of different strokes.

Our little ones will be aiming towards the goal of being ready to join lessons without a parent or guardian in the water! - where they learn to follow instructions along with their fellow swimming buddies!

Terrific Terrapins
3-4 Years

So we are independent and parent free!!! In this stage we continue with aquatic breathing and body positions, with the focus on streamlining and rotations. Safety is now of great importance therefor treading water and star floats are taught to keep our young swimmers safe near deep water ready for those Summer Holidays.

Technique Terrapins

Ok so we can now front paddle, back kick, roll, glide and tread water. Now comes some exciting new skills. We introduce over-arm on front and back crawl, side breathing, breaststroke and dolphin kicks. Our rotations and glides adapt in their own way along with different sculling techniques to assist with all aspects of swimming. Opening a world of oppurtunity to enjoy all water sports for the future of our young people.
